Mark Mitsui was named to serve as deputy assistant secretary for community colleges in the U.S. Department of Education. Mark is a ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ alum, 2003. He has been instrumental in working with UW's GO-MAP and the Graduate School in helping to build pathways for graduate students who are interested in teaching at the community college level at North Seattle Community College.

Starting next summer, Seattle will join a dozen other U.S. cities that train some of its teachers similar to the way hospitals teach medical residents, with significant on-the-job learning alongside experienced mentors.
