The ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ will celebrate more than 400 graduating students during on June 11.

Speaking to the Class of 2016 is Gloria Ladson-Billings, a 1972 graduate of the College who holds the Kellner Family Chair in Urban Education at University of Wisconsin School of Education.

Ladson-Billings is a past president of the American Educational Research Association whose research examines the pedagogical practices of teachers who are successful with African American students. She is the author of the critically acclaimed books The Dreamkeepers: Successful Teachers of African American Children, Crossing over to Canaan: The Journey of New Teachers in Diverse Classrooms and Beyond the Big House: African American Educators on Teacher Education.

Ladson-Billings will receive the College's 2016 Distinguished Alumnus Award during the commencement ceremonies.

The ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ's graduation celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. on June 11 between Miller and Raitt halls on the UW Quad. Light refreshments will be provided following the ceremony.
