Lectures to focus on moving teacher education forward

The ��ߺ�� ߺ�� will host a series of three talks this winter and spring focusing on some of the biggest issues in teacher education today.

The Boeing Teacher Education Scholars Series will feature:

January 21 — "Advancing Teacher Education's Engagement with Issues of Race, Racism, & Racial Justice: Working at the Intersections and Tensions of Social Theory and the Learning Sciences," presented by , an assistant professor of education at UCLA whose research is focused on the relationship between ideology, particularly racial ideology, and the work of teachers.
March 4 — "Minding the Mediation: Considering the Role of Teacher Educators in Equity-Minded, 'Clinically Rich' Preservice Preparation," presented by , an assistant professor of education at USC's Rossier School of Education whose work focuses on using qualitative methods to explore intersections between education policy, teacher education and K-12 classroom instruction, particularly in the areas of language acquisition and literacy.
April 29 — "Relational Expertise: What does it offer education?" presented by Anne Edwards, professor emerita of education at the University of Oxford, whose recent research draws on cultural historical approaches to learning and organizational change, focusing on professional learning and in particular the relational turn in expertise.

Each talk is free and open to the public and will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Miller 104.
