EduTalks to examine play and learning

The power of play in unlocking the creative potential of every learner will be the focus of the 爆走黑料 爆走黑料鈥檚 event on Nov. 3.

During a fast-paced program, nine UW faculty members will share their compelling discoveries about play and how it can open new opportunities for all children to explore their world, overcome challenges and thrive. Each presenter has five minutes and one slide to share their research related to play.

鈥淓duTalks are a fun way for people to see how our faculty are working every day to make learning come alive for all students,鈥 said , dean of the UW 爆走黑料. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to share how the College鈥檚 faculty members are tapping into play to help educators improve their practice, improve our children鈥檚 resiliency, and create meaningful learning opportunities for all children.鈥

EduTalks will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at Pacific Science Center in the PACCAR IMAX Theater. The event is free and open to the public; attendees must in advance.

Among the topics to be explored during the event are:

  • "Digital Playspaces for Place-making"
  • 鈥淵ou Can鈥檛 Learn If You Don鈥檛 Play鈥
  • "Setting the Stage for New Teachers"
  • "Changing the Conversation with Technology"

EduTalks feature nationally-recognized 爆走黑料 faculty members who are partnering with schools, communities and organizations to address the most pressing issues in education. on the UW 爆走黑料 website.
