Position Summary
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Enrollment Coordinator to join our team. The Enrollment Coordinator conducts community outreach to aid in DLEC recruitment efforts, facilitates the enrollment process and monitors family status and enrollment changes for our preschool and home visiting programs.
The ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently is preferred for this role.
This position will work at various DLEC site locations, including Yesler Terrace Center, Beacon Hill Center, Sand Point Center, and the EHS/Admin Office.
The position is fully on-site and will require travel throughout King County for outreach.
Essential Functions
- Establish and maintain working relationships with community agencies for referrals and resources for potential children and their families.
- Actively recruit, support, and facilitate the DLEC enrollment, placement, and orientation process for children and their families.
- Implement policies, procedures, and work plans for recruitment, application, enrollment, placement, and orientation.
- Maintain full program enrollment by maintaining current waiting lists, analyzing attendance, and filling identified enrollment opportunities.
- Collect and review all applications for follow-up items, and eligibility requirements, and communicate appropriate action items to families or internal staff. Ensure that completion and eligibility files are either closed or completed.
- Manage 鈥渙ver-income鈥 roster and ensure funding compliance.
- Assist with the placement of children into appropriate classrooms.
- Monitor child/family status for attendance, transfer requests, and/or withdrawal requests.
- Withdraw children/families from the program as necessary according to procedures, relaying information to the appropriate staff and filling vacancies as per Head Start Performance Standards.
- Maintain all relevant ERSEA information in the online database.
- Ensure compliance with regulations directly related to determining, verifying, and documenting eligibility determinations.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
- AA degree in Early Childhood or related field. BA preferred.
- Bilingual in English and another language (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Somali, or Vietnamese) preferred.
- Prior experience in providing family support services.
- Prior experience working with children five and under and their families.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, other data processing applications.
- Knowledge of basic office equipment: copy, fax, voicemail, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to speak confidently before small and large groups: answer questions and give program information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Valid Washington State Driver鈥檚 License and daily access to a personal, legally licensed vehicle with proof of current automobile insurance.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Physical Demands: To perform the job the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop, and balance, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms. The incumbent will be required to carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs. on a frequent basis, on an occasional basis lifting up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions: The work is typically performed in an early childhood school environment, with moderate to loud noise level. Frequent travel to other site locations is needed.

Employment Requirements
All staff must comply with state vaccination guidelines, including MMR, and provide a negative TB test (within the last 12 months) or an x-ray, as well as a pre-employment physical. The COVID-19 vaccine requirement remains in effect, with staff required to have at least complete initial dose, per the CDC schedule. Boosters are not required. Medical or religious exemptions may be requested, and if approved, weekly testing will be required.
Employment or volunteer service at Denise Louie Education Center is conditioned on a criminal background check as required by child care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards. The 60 categories of criminal convictions or pending charges disqualifying a person from having access to children in child care are in WAC 388-330-040.
Certain positions require degrees, coursework, or other certifications. You will be asked to provide proof of your stated education prior to hire.

Salary
The starting pay range for this position is $26.23 - $28.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and professional experience. The complete pay range for this position is $26.23 - $31.97 per hour.
