QUALIFICATIONS: |
College graduate with a degree in Education or Early Childhood Education. Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese language required.
Previous experience in Dual Language program (preferred at least one-year experience).
Current knowledge of child development theory and its implications for teaching and learning. Preferred candidate: Hold a current STARS training certificate, a CPR/First Aid certificate, and pass background checks by the Department of Children, Youth and Families.
Commitment and ability to work with children from all ethnic backgrounds including students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, and colleagues, orally and in writing.
Ability to use varied assessments, to assess children’s development. . Ongoing professional development activities, such as college course work, professional associations, workshops, and in-service.
A strong and positive attitude that each child can learn and master more than one language in their time. And believe each child has the capacity to achieve personal academic excellence.
Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
