Our Support Staff play a crucial role in this mission, providing essential assistance to participants and ensuring our programs are inclusive, accessible, and engaging.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide direct support and assistance to youth and young adults during programs and events.
  • Help facilitate activities, ensuring that they are accessible, inclusive, and tailored to the abilities of each participant.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and deliver programs and activities.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Respond to participants' needs or concerns in a sensitive, respectful, and timely manner.
  • Assist participants with personal care, as needed (i.e. toileting, feeding, transferring, etc.) 
  • Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of participants.
  • Supervise volunteers during programming: provide coaching and modeling to volunteers on how to engage with participants, and answer volunteer questions and concerns 
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and clean-up of programs and events.
  • Communicate regularly with the Volunteer Coordinator, Program Director, and Teaching Artists to ensure all students have the support they need, and to communicate any concerns. 
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Training or experience in social work, music/dance/arts, special education, health-related fields, or a related field preferred. 
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in an educational or recreational context is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and to meet the unique needs of each participant.
  • Ability to assist with physical activities and movement.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Location: AIM classes are held at All That Dance Studio in North Seattle; 3012 NE Blakeley Street, 98105. 

Salary: $25/hour for group classes and adult day programming, $30/hour for camps.

Schedule: Current shifts available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings, Wednesday evenings, and Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Additional weekday shifts available during the summers and school breaks. Scheduling is flexible based on availability.
