Principal, Early Learning Center

is seeking an experienced Principal who can serve as the instructional leader of the school community. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to anti-racist education and should have previous experience in teaching, learning, and leadership, with a focus on early childhood education, inclusive education, and special education.
 
As a leader at Valley View, the candidate must value and prioritize authentic two-way communication with families and the broader school community, and be passionate about innovation, collaboration, and community partnership within the context of early childhood education. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to translate vision and theory into actionable items, balancing the transformational and tactical/technical elements that are essential to effective early childhood school leadership. They should have the ability to create systems of organization to positively influence school culture and achieve instructional goals in a diverse early childhood context, where around a third of all students qualify for special education services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master's degree 
  • Washington State Principal Certification (Active or ability to obtain by contractual start date)
  • Washington State Teaching Certificate or Educational Staff Associate Certificate (Active or ability to obtain by contractual start date)

This position will close at 11:30 pm PST on Wednesday, April 17. HR Minimum Qualification screening and district phone screening will take place on a rolling basis, followed by site-based screening beginning on Monday, April 22. This process will include a site visit with a performance task tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 2. Interviews will be conducted in person on Friday, May 3, with finalist interviews conducted in person on Thursday, May 9.
