Bilingual Family Support & Tutor

Tutors Impacting Public Schools (TIPS) supports students, teachers, and school communities, providing representative, culturally responsive classroom tutors to enable student and school success. TIPS serves over 2500 students in grades K-12 each year, in partnerships with schools across the Puget Sound region. We provide competitive pay, classroom experience, training, and access to professional education networks for college/university students, career-switchers, community members, retirees, and parents who seek to bring their knowledge, interest, and diverse experience to make a difference for children and youth. Tutors may serve as circulating classroom assistants, lead small groups, or provide individual academic, emotional, or social support at school sites during regular school hours.

Tutors Impacting Public Schools (TIPS) is hiring classroom tutors to improve student success, support teacher and school needs, and enrich public school classrooms for the 2023-2024 school year!   • REQUIRED: Speak Spanish

 

In this position you will:

  • Provide support to Spanish-speaking families and students at Daniel Bagley Elementary (7821 Stone Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103) by:
  • Staffing the school's Family Room, offering facilities and resources like internet access, laundry services, a food pantry, and a clothing store for families
  • Collaborating with the multilingual staff team to ensure families’ basic needs are met and enhance student attendance and engagement in school activities
  • Working closely with students to provide educational and emotional support
  • Build valuable leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Develop professional relationships with faculty, staff, and TIPS administration
  • Receive paid training on Race & Equity in Education, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Student Engagement & Management, creating Inclusive & Welcoming School Environments, Social Emotional Learning strategies, and more!
  • Get paid $23 an hour
  • Accrue paid sick leave

 

Schedule:

  • Start Date: March 21st, 2024
  • End Date: May 31st, 2024
  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
  • 12 hours a week
  • 7:45am to 10:45am
