Two professors at the ���ߺ��� ���ߺ��� are among the nation's most influential education policy academics.

, Boeing professor of teacher education, and , professor emeritus of education, are recognized in the prepared by American Enterprise Institute director of education policy and Education Week blogger Frederick M. Hess. Using eight metrics, Hess calculated how much university-based academics moved ideas from academic journals into the national conversation.

Zeichner at No. 41 and Bransford as No. 59 are among the top 200 education scholars included in the rankings.

“One small way to encourage academics to step into the fray and revisit academic norms is, I think, by doing more to recognize and value those scholars who engage in public discourse,” explained Hess. “These results offer insight into how scholars in a field of public concern are influencing thinking and the national discourse.”

Other UW-affiliated scholars making the list were Dan Goldhaber (No. 77), director of the Center for Education Data and Research at UW Bothell; Jacob Vigdor (No. 86), professor at the Evans School of Public Affairs; Paul T. Hill (No. 102), research professor at UW Bothell; Robin J. Lake (No. 157), director of the Center on Reinventing Public Education at UW Bothell; and Mark C. Long (No. 183), professor at the Evans School of Public Affairs.
