COE Interfolio P&E
Interfolio Promotion & Tenure Pilot
- Let's Get Organized!
The goal of this site is to organize the knowledge we are gaining through this pilot experience. It has the documents, instructions, videos, and other relevant materials. I am also adding a discussion area, so we can add our opinions and issues.
- General Instructions
In addition to these instructions, you may also want to check out the document.
- Interfolio will display your files in the same order that you upload them. I'd recommend viewing the preview early in the process because interfolio displays bookmarks and files in particular way - it's helpful to view what your reviewers will see.
- Also notice that the file name you put when you upload is what we will see and Interfolio uses to organize (will be bold on the left hand navigation). When you upload your publications or curriculum samples or external awards, etc., make sure to put enough detail in the title so it is easy for faculty to find.
- SPR chairs, please do the same with your documents. Name them clearly so faculty and the provost's office can find them easily.
- Under the "Candidate Documents" I'd recommend compiling all the evidence for each section (e.g., all your Peer Evaluations) into 1 pdf file, and use bookmarks to organize the individual files (e.g., course evaluations) You can use Adobe Pro to do this. Check with Paul or Ryan if you don't have this software and get it. It is handy for so many things. Yanko Michae put together a set of directions on how to build pdf documents out of multiple files (, ).
- Just like you would do with the hard copy file, make a summary sheet of your teaching evaluations and your advising. I asked the COE research person for a list of all my advisees, which made the job a lot easier.
- Interfolio automatically builds a menu on the side of what the reviewers will see. This is helpful, but can get messy if you are uploading pdfs with unhelpful bookmarks (e.g., the student evaluation documents have irrelevant numbered bookmarks). Yanko also made a set of directions on how to delete or edit bookmarks .
Videos
- Interfolio Overview 2019 - (K Lewis)
This page has two video overviews of Interfolio. The first video provides an overview of how to use interfolio to assemble your tenure materials for review. The second video is a follow-up that illustrates how nested bookmarks will display in interfolio. Please let me (Katie Lewis kelewis2@uw.edu) know if you have questions about these videos or suggestions for how to make these more helpful!
